Genevieve "Gen" (State) Summersgill

APRIL 2, 1922 – OCTOBER 14, 2014

Genevieve “Gen” Summersgill, 92, of Melbourne, FL went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 14, 2014. She was born in South Bend, Indiana and graduated from Riley High School. Gen married James R. Summersgill in 1949 and moved to Eau Gallie, FL in 1963.

Gen was a member of Palmdale Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed bowling, crochet, playing cards, traveling, and was a fan of basketball and Notre Dame Football.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Shirley(Roger Sr.)Carpenter and Rene(Dan) Piazza; son, Brent (P.J.) Summersgill; 4 grandchildren: Stacy(Jim) Chancey, Roger(Debbie) Carpenter II, Gabrielle Piazza, and Mark Summersgill; and 3 great-grandchildren: Brooke(Travis) Geer, Kirsten Carpenter, and Kerri Carpenter.

A visitation will be held Saturday (10/25) from 10-11AM followed by the funeral service at 11AM at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial. Entombment will follow services at Florida Memorial Gardens.
