Bertha M. Kiel

SOUTH BEND - Bertha M. Kiel, 92, of Bader Avenue, died at 9:40 p.m. Saturday in her home.

Miss Kiel retired in 1968 from the South Bend Community School Corp. after 43 years of service as a foreign language teacher at Riley High School. She was born May 19, 1903, in Grand Haven, Mich.

Survivors include two cousins, Lucille Williamson and Margaret Scrivener, both of Durand, Mich. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan, a member of Indiana Retired Teachers Association, National Teachers Association, and Alliance Francaise.

Services and burial will be at Lee Memorial Chapel at Lake Forest Cemetery, Grand Haven. Forest G. Hay Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
