Mr. Donnie Ricardo Dikes, affectionately know as. “Double D", 50, of South Bend, Indiana, passed from this ‘life on Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at 8:18 a.m. in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, surrounded by his loving family.

Donnie was born on December 13, 1955, in South Bend, to Cleophas Dikes and the late James C. Ludy. He graduated from Riley High School and attended Indiana University. On August 8, 1987, in South Bend, he was united in marriage to Mary (Cobb) Dikes; they recommitted their love and repeated their vows on December 13, 2003. Donnie was employed in maintenance for the City of South Bend Bureau of the Street; he was employed there for 30 years and worked until his health failed. Donnie was a member of Faith Apostolic temple.

Donnie leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Mary Dikes; his mother, Cleophas Dikes; two sons. Donnie 'DJ" Dikes of Elkhart Indiana and Devon Dikes of Indianapolis, Indiana; two daughters. Tijuana Dikes of South Bend and Sidney Dikes of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Jemiah and Jamone Dikes of South Bend; two stepsons, Eddie (Rachel) Vann Jr of Indianapolis and Quincy Heard of South Bend: a stepdaughter. Raquel Heard of South Bend; five brothers, Dwaine (Rhonda) Ludy. DeWayne Pack, Kevin Dikes. Kenny Dikes and Bobby Williams, all of South Bend; three sisters, Gina Dikes of South Bend, Kim (George) Bugg of Atlanta. Georgia and Theresa Malone of Indianapolis; his maternal grandmother. Argenia "Big" Watson; his mother-in-law. Edna 'Dolly' Cobb and father-in-law, Charles Hammond, all 01 South Bend; three brothers-in-law. Curtis (Stella) Owens of South Bend, Tyrone Cobb and Christopher Cobb. both of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by a sister. Rosemary Scruggs and his paternal grandparents and maternal grandfather.

Donnie enjoyed life. His favorite past times were listening to music and making people laugh. He especially loved spending time with his family and friends. Donnie was well known for his candor and affection when he was ready for people to leave his house. He would lovingly say, "I don't care where you go, but it's time to leave here." Donnie will be greatly missed by those knew and loved him.

Funeral services for Mr. Donnie R. Dikes will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 28 in the Faith Apostolic Ministry, 921 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, with visitation at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. The Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
