John Arthur Brummitt, 82, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023, at the age of 82 in Granger, Indiana. Born on April 13, 1941, in South Bend, Indiana.
John was a graduate of Riley High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in business from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
John was the beloved husband of Virginia (Ginny) Brummitt, with whom he shared a life full of love and cherished memories for 52 years. He was a devoted father to his son, Tate Brummitt (Kasia), and a doting grandfather to grandson Axel, who brought immense joy and laughter into his life. John was preceded in death by his parents, Worth and Elsie Brummitt, and is survived by his sister, Nancy Kemp (Dennis), as well as his adoring nieces, Sarah, Erin, Rachel, and Jenna.
John retired from Advanced Thermoforming Plastics, of which he was a partner.
John loved to ski and shared many memorable ski trips with friends and family out west. He also enjoyed golf, jogging, weightlifting and biking. John loved to play jokes and party with friends, colleagues and customers.
A memorial service will be held for John at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 5, 2024 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church 225 Haney Ave. South Bend, In 46613. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church or charity of choice. Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer North Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
