David Dean "Poz" Poznanski

February 18, 1950 ~ January 6, 2024

After a long hard-fought battle with Multiple Myeloma, David, 73, passed away peacefully with his devoted wife K by his side.  David was born February 18, 1950, to Raymond Poznanski and Gertrude (Kajzer) Shriver.

On July 12, 1969, he married Kathy Bauer at River Park Methodist Church.  Dave is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathy; children, Kim Poznanski (South Bend) and Troy Poznanski (Granger); 2 grandchildren, Alyssa Poznanski and Cameron Poznanski; bonus grandchildren Aly, Zach, Landon and Zayne and Emma; sister, Deb (Bill) Talcott; sisters-in-law, Karen Calvin, Jackie (Carl) DeBaillie and Rose Bauer; brother-in-law, Bill (Sylvia) Bauer; and several nieces and nephews.  Dave was preceded in death by father, Ray; mother, Trudy; brother, Ken Poznanski; and brothers-in-law, Bob Bauer and Rich Calvin.

Dave attended Riley High School and worked at AM General for 32 years before retiring in 2000.

Being an avid golfer, you could find him at a golf course with his golf buddies, Mike Berzai, Louie Cuila, Dave Wilmes, Chuck Chamblis, Greg Thompson, and Dave Wilmes at least 5 times a week.  He has 3 Hole in Ones accredited to his name.  He loved watching ND Football, men’s and women’s basketball, and unfortunately the Chicago Bears.  He enjoyed going to vintage car shows.  Even after retirement he was up at 5am getting ‘chores’ done by noon, or it wasn’t getting done today.

In his younger years you could find him with his partner in crime Jim Woody (and there were plenty).

The family would like to thank Dr Rafat Ansari and Brandi Flagg of Michiana Hematology Oncology.  Also, Hospice nurse Ashley.

Having survived 2 auto stem cell transplants and a kidney transplant donated by his son Troy.

Family and friends may gather for a memorial visitation to remember Dave from 11am till 2pm on Sunday, January 14, 2024, in Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN 46614. There will be no funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation or Kidney Foundation.

Condolences for the family may be made at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
