SOUTH BEND — Charles Jurtin Jr.. 46, of Corvallis, Ore., formerly of South Bend. died Tuesday of an apparent heart attack in Bridal Veil. Ore. Mr. Jurtin was born Aug. 16, 1946, in Carlsbad, Czechoslavokia, moving to Corvallis in 1990.

On May 5. 1989. in Santa Rosa, Calif., he married Patricia Kiem. She survives with a daughter, Marcee Glandorf of Fort Hood, Texas; two stepdaughters, Debbie Sandage of Olympia, Wash., and Sherry Rowe of Tumwater. Wash.; a stepson, James Pits of Olympia; five grandchildren; and his parents, Maria Jurtin of Corvallis and Charles Jurtin of Central Valley, Calif,

He was a graduate of Riley High School.

Graveside services and burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Masonic Memorial Park, Tumwater. Olympic Funeral Home, Tumwater, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Children's Hospital of Seattle, 4800 Sand Point Way N.E., Seattle, Wash. 98105.
