Grace Ann (Morrow) Rodgers
April 19, 1936 ~ November 4, 2021 (age 85)
Grace Ann (Morrow) Rodgers, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021. She is survived by two children, Craig Eugene Rodgers of Wheaton, IL, and Kimberly Sue Rodgers of Granger, IN; and one granddaughter, Jacqueline Taylor Rodgers of Narrowsburg, NY. Grace was one of four siblings, with one sibling still surviving—Katherine Hubler of Osceola, IN.
Grace was proud of her heritage. Her father emigrated from Derrinraw, Ireland, in 1921, and her maternal grandmother was a Cherokee Indian.
Grace received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and her Master of Public Affairs in 1993 from Indiana University South Bend (IUSB). Grace’s career spanned several years in higher education and culminated in her teaching at IUSB. She loved teaching, and according to her student reviews, she was an accomplished and effective educator.
Grace loved reading, watercolor painting with her friends, and gardening. She will be remembered by family and friends as a loving mother, supportive sister, and a kind and caring friend.
A graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Southlawn Cemetery, 61430 U.S. 31 South, South Bend, IN. Palmer Funeral Home—Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
