Raymond A. Bernhardt
Raymond Albert Bernhardt was born on Feb. 1, 1933, in South Bend, Ind. He passed away on Oct. 22, 2014. He graduated from Riley High School in 1950.
He was in the Air Force for 26 years and retired on March 30, 1979. Raymond served in the Cuban Missile Crisis, Germany, North Africa and Vietnam War. He met Shirley Luke at Eglin Air Force Base. They were married for 55 years in 1959. Raymond worked for BMT Manufacturing for several years. He spent summers in Spruce Pine, N.C. He also enjoyed model railroading.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Shirley Bernhardt; two children, Sharon Kay Bernhardt and Kenneth A. Bernhardt; and three grandchildren, Gregory, Lance and Ryan.
He will be laid to rest in Pennsylvania.
