Alice Marie (Skiles) Jennings
July 15, 1927 ~ April 7, 2024 96 Years Old
Alice Marie (Skiles) Jennings, 96, passed away on Sunday April 7, 2024 at White Oaks nursing home in Lawton, Michigan.
Alice was born on July 15, 1927 in South Bend to the late Walter and Alta (Bernhardt) Skiles. She worked as an executive secretary in the automotive department at Bendix Corporation. Alice grew up in South Bend and spent most of her retirement years enjoying Port Richey, Florida in the winter and Gravel Lake in Lawton, Michigan in the summer.
Alice enjoyed golfing where she got a few hole-in-ones, playing tennis, playing euchre, sometimes until the wee hours of the morning, but most of all she loved spending time with her family!
Alice married Clarence Rau who passed in 1977 and then married Richard Jennings who passed in 2008.
Alice is survived by her children: Tari (Victor) Hoctel of South Bend, Mari Frick of Port Richey, FL, and James (Donna) Rau of Lawton, MI/Hudson FL. Also surviving are four grandchildren: Ryan (Amy) Frick, Branden (Amy) Frick, Kyle (Jessica) Rau, and Erika (Josh) Rau; five great-grandchildren: Evynn, Kole, Miles, Crew, and Mila; two step-grandchildren: Eric (Beth) Hoctel and Kelly (Dave) Schmidt; and five step-great-grandchildren: Madelyn, Nora, Mason, Nathan, and Aaron.
Alice was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, and son-in-law, Ronald Frick.
Visitation for Alice will be held from 11am until 1pm on Friday April 12, 2024 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend. A funeral service will begin at 1pm with burial to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Mishawaka.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gravel Lake Association at PO Box 531, Lawton, MI 49065.
