Diana Lynn Flannery (Youngs)

Diana L. Youngs

June 21, 1953 - July 17, 2019

SOUTH BEND, IN - Diana L. Youngs, 66, also lovingly known as B.O.B. passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in her residence.

Diana was born on June 21, 1953 in South Bend to Donald and Mildred (Hunt) Flannery. She had 25+ years of service and retired from Saint Michael's Laundry at the University of Notre Dame. She also worked for Hans Haus and Target for many years.

Diana loved crafts, shopping trips with her kids and friends, chauffeuring her grandkids around, and making sure everyone in her life was fed and loved. Diana loved everything Christmas. Christmas was all year long in her heart. If you visited her house any day of the year you would often find her watching Christmas movies and also planning her next big craft for the upcoming holiday with her sister, Shirley Voglewede. Diana also loved to travel with her friends and family and often had the next road trip or vacation planned. Diana also loved hunting down great deals and was an avid reader. She was the person you could always call when you needed help and she would drop everything and come to your rescue. Everyone who met her considered her their best friend and she loved and protected all of them.

On October 2, 1976 in Southlawn United Methodist Church she married Daryl R. Youngs who survives along with 2 daughters, Candi (Tony) Hardy and Holly (Brad) Wyckoff; 4 grandchildren, Sarah, Haylee, Zackary, and Lucas; siblings, Rick (Louann) Flannery, Shirley (Rick) Voglewede, and Robert Flannery, numerous nieces and nephews, and her 2 dogs, Kenny and Kyle. She also was a safe haven for anyone who needed extra love and referred to them all as “her Brats” including Amy Scott and Crystal Grubbs. She was blessed with life long friends such as the Chevrie's, Tabler's, and all of her Rum Village friends.

Per Diana's wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at Army Navy Garrison Union #146, 1121 W. Western Avenue, on July 27 from 2-7 pm. Family has asked for everyone to wear bright colors and bring stories of Diana.
