Joseph Michael Ford

Joseph "Joe" Michael Ford

March 16, 1950 ~ April 9, 2022 (age 72)

Joseph “Joe” M. Ford, 72, of North Liberty, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 9, 2022, at his home. Joe was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Robert C. and A. Leona (Shaw) Ford on March 16, 1950. Joe grew up with 2 of his sisters in South Bend, Indiana. He graduated from Riley High School. In June 2004, he married Sharon K. LaVine.

Joe loved his sports. He grew up playing football and baseball in school. He enjoyed watching the Bears and the Cubs. He loved the Fall time of the year because it meant deer hunting season. He would spend hours in the woods waiting for just the “right” deer. He loved his dogs and cats. His favorite time was eating breakfast somewhere with his family and talking about the “old” days.

Joe is survived by his two daughters, Myshell “Shelly” (Dan) Gilleand of Mishawaka, Indiana and Barbara “Barbie” Ford of Waxahachie, Texas; seven grandchildren, Daniel (Joey) Morrison, Michael Toner, Brenna Toner all of Mishawaka, Justin Miller, Cody Miller, Tyler Miller and Katie Miller all from Texas; four great grandchildren Kirie, Ayden, Rhea, and Wyatt all from Mishawaka,  one little Miller from Texas who is due to arrive in September; brothers Henry (Deb) Ford of Mishawaka, Jimmy Ford of South Bend, Billy (Alicia) Ford of Mishawaka, and David (Mary) Ford of Bremen, Indiana. Additionally, he is survived by very special sisters-in-law, Sheila (Eddie) Ford and Joanne (Thomas) Ford-Kline.  He was proceeded in death by both parents; brothers, Thomas (Joanne) Ford, Eddie (Sheila) Ford, Jackie (Roxanne) Ford, Bobby (Sharon) Ford, as well as sisters, Betty (Lamar) Colley, Emma Jean Ford, Elsie Ford, Laverne (James) Stafford, Fay Jones, Priscilla Sloan, Zelma Irene Balentine and Debbie (Bobby) Deeds. While we wish we could mention each of his nieces and nephews by name, there simply isn’t enough available space in this publication. There are many and Joe loved them all.

Please join Joe’s family in a celebration of his life on Friday, April 15,2022 at Bremen Cemetery with Doug George officiating the final goodbye. A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 14,2022 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46565.
