Gerald "Jerry" Anders, a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on January 27, 2024, at the age of 69, in his hometown of South Bend, IN, where he was born on December 6, 1954. Jerry was a beacon of love and kindness, touching the lives of all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Lauretta (Dunning) Anders, whom he met at the Chippewa bowling alley 45 years ago. He is also survived by his daughters, Mary Anders of South Bend, Christine Anders of Osceola , and Sarah (Rodney) Klocklow of South Bend; his grandchildren, Nicole, Timothy Jr., Blake, Andria, Lily, Ana, Hunter,and Isaac; and his great-grandchild, Aurora. He also leaves behind his brothers, Richard (Ruth) Anders of Oklahoma and Mark Anders of NorthLiberty. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Florence Anders, and his brothers, Tom and Leroy Jr. Anders.

A proud graduate of South Bend Riley High School, Jerry dedicated 26 years as a commercial truck driver with Meyer Distributing. His work ethic was unparalleled, and his camaraderie with colleagues was always marked by genuine care and humor.

Jerry's was an avid fisherman, camper, bowler, and darts player. His greatest joy was vacationing with his family, where memories were made and laughter was abundant. Described by those who knew him as loving, kind, and thoughtful, Jerry's legacy is one of warmth and generosity. Jerry Anders will be deeply missed by family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at Albright United MethodistChurch located at 504 W. Mishawaka Ave Mishawaka, IN 46545. Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel will be assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jerry’s name to Albright United Methodist Church, 504 W. Mishawaka Ave. Mishawaka, IN 46545 and Center for Hospice 501 Comfort Pl. Mishawaka, IN 46545.
