Shirley Harris-Page

SOUTH BEND - On the morning of Saturday, January 19, 2008, at 7:05 a.m., Shirley Marie Harris -Page, a resident of East Monroe Street, made her departure from her earthy home to her heavenly home at the age of 62. In Memphis, TN she was born to the union of Freddie Lee and Lessie (Green) Harris on April 30, 1945. Coming from Memphis, she was brought to South Bend as a child and was educated at Oliver Elementary School, Riley High School and Ivy Tech State College as a surgical technician.

She was employed by Memorial Hospital as a surgical technician for 11 years until 1979 and for 11 additional years she worked for Service Master as a custodian, retiring in 1990. Shirley had a special love for shopping, garage and yard sales, and was especially good at correcting different things. She also was a member of New Life Fellowship Ministries where her brother is pastor.

Mrs. Page's memory will be lovingly cherished by her daughter, Karen Page; her son, John Frazier; three grandchildren, Faren Page, Jewel Page and Jared Page; and by two brothers, Pastor Charles Edward (Betty) Harris all of South Bend and Ulysses Kevin (Barbara Jean) Harris, Andover, MN, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends of which two special, Fannie Fuller and Charlotte Bridges of South Bend and her extended family of New Life Fellowship Ministries.

Preceding her in death along with her parents was a brother, Jimmie Lee Harris.

Services for Mrs. Page will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 26, 2008 at New Life Fellowship Ministries where her brother is pastor. Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where e-mails of condolence may be sent to alfordsmortuary@comcast.net.
