SOUTH BEND - Anita L. Curtis , 58, of Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center, died at 2:10 p.m. Thursday in St. Joseph's Medical Center after an illness.

 

Mrs. Curtis was associate professor at Illinois State University.

She was born Sept. 15, 1936, in South Bend and was married to Alex A. Curtis on 9/18/1954 in St. Joseph Co., IN.

She is survived by three sons, Robert of Winamac, Anthony of Colon, Mich., and Donald of South Bend; six grandchildren; her father, Robert Burden of Niles; two sisters, Mary Trensey of South Bend and Sue Knox of Columbus, Ohio; and a brother, Gerald Burden of Lake Forest, Calif.

She was a member of American Psychological Association, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, American Association for Counseling and Development, and Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She received her bachelor's degree from Indiana University South Bend and her master's and doctorate degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington.

 

Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and an hour before services in the funeral home.
