SOUTH BEND - Robert "Bob" Gunder, 77, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away with his family by his side Saturday, October 19. Bob was born on October 29, 1935, in South Bend, IN, to the late Harold Gunder and Niceta (Volk) Gunder. In 1956, Bob married Marlene Morence, who preceded him in death on July 16, 2011.

They are survived by 5 of their 6 children, Rhonda D'Entremont of Gilbert, AZ, Greg Gunder of Glendale, AZ, Wendy Young of Port Hueneme, CA, Brenda Anderson of Gilbert, AZ, and Brad Gunder of Scottsdale, AZ. They were preceded in death by their son, Scott Gunder of Gilbert, AZ. Bob is also survived by his sister, Marianne Wilcox of Fort Meyers, Florida. Bob worked as a U.S. Letter Carrier for 35 years in both South Bend and Tempe, AZ.

He was loved by his family and friends for his sense of humor and could always make a room full of people laugh. This special man will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial Mass will be held in Mesa, AZ, at St. Timothy's Catholic Church on October 28, 2013. The family intends to bring both Bob and Marlene's cremains home to South Bend and hold a memorial service in the coming year.
