Helen K. (Kocsis) Van De Voorde

SOUTH BEND - Helen K. Van De Voorde, 74, of South Bend, died at 2:00 p.m. Sunday (August 15, 2010) at Country Care West in South Bend. She was born March 10, 1936, in South Bend, to George and Helen (Toth) Kocsis. She married Clem Van De Voorde, who preceded her in death in August 1997 in South Bend.

Surviving are two sons, Vincent R. Deal of South Bend and Kenneth R. (Renee) Deal of Elkhart; one daughter, Maria A. Deal of Mishawaka, two granddaughters, Sarah Deal and Briana Gross; and a brother, John Kocsis of South Bend.

Helen graduated in 1954 from Riley High School in South Bend.

She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word search and cooking. Helen was formerly employed as a waitress at the South Bend Moose Lodge.

There will be no visitation or services per her request, and cremation will take place. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care.
