Shirley Darling, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2023, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on September 29, 1936, in South Bend, Indiana to Emery and Velma (Pallo) Vicsek. She was a woman of gentleness, and love, who touched the lives of many with her kindness and warmth.

Shirley was a proud graduate of Riley High School and continued her education by taking several courses at IUSB College. Her thirst for knowledge and commitment to personal growth were truly inspiring. She was a hardworking woman who dedicated many years to managing her husband's restaurant, Jerry's Pub. She also held administrative positions in various offices, including Associates, where her diligence and dedication were greatly admired.

Shirley was predeceased by her loving husband, Jerry W. Darling, her sons Craig, Kenneth, and Ronald Shreve, her grandson Kevin Darling, and her brother Richard Vicsek. She is survived by her daughter Vickie Lynn Darling of Kissimmee, Florida, and her son Jerry (Ada) Darling Jr., of Lawrence, Michigan. She was also a cherished grandmother to six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.

Shirley had a passion for hosting gatherings, where she would light up the room with her radiant smile and infectious laughter. She had a deep love for flowers and angels, which reflected her gentle and loving nature. Her home was always filled with a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all who visited.

As the famous quote by Mother Teresa goes, "Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier." Shirley lived these words, spreading love and happiness wherever she went. She was a woman of grace and dignity, who lived her life with kindness and compassion. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her soul rest in peace and may her legacy of love and kindness continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her.
