Mr. Leonard Michael Hensel, 73, of Three Rivers, passed away peacefully Wednesday night, Oct. 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Dec. 5, 1942 in South Bend, Ind., the son of the late Harold and Gertrude (Haringer) Hensel.

Len graduated from Riley High School with the class of 1961. On Sept. 24, 1965 he married the love of his life Ms. Diane Losik, whom he met during his trips to Harwood Lake. Len and Diane eventually made their home in Jones, where he and Diane raised their two daughters and later often hosted all the grandchildren where they shared many fond memories. Len enjoyed working in his garden, wood carving, and being outdoors. Len retired from the Semco Gas Company after 30 years of service.

Mr. Hensel was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Mr. Ross Hensel.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 51 years, Mrs. Diane (Losik) Hensel; two daughters, Mrs. Amy (Dan) Tomlinson, and Mrs. Brenda (Chris) Deel; all of Three Rivers; four beloved grandchildren, Kelsey and Maggie Tomlinson, and Mackenzie and Alexandria Deel; one brother, Fredrick (Amber) Hensel of Florida, and one special aunt, Jackie Connelly and special brother-in-law, Bob (Linda) Losik as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until time of services at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 9 at the Hohner Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Bartz officiating.

Cremation will be conducted following services.

Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

Memorials may be donated to St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church or Three Rivers Health Cardiac Rehab Unit. Envelopes available at Hohner Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.hohnerfh.com.
