Dorothy A. Selby, 83, passed away on December 28, 2023, in Fenton, MI. Born on June 15, 1940, in South Bend, IN, to the late Victor and Mabel (Nicholas) Viduka, she lived most of her life in South Bend.
On October 18, 1959, in South Bend, Dorothy was united in marriage to her beloved husband Wayne Selby, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2000. Together, they raised a family that came to include; their sons Kenneth (Julie) Selby Granger, IN; Thomas (Carolyn) Selby of Fenton, MI; Joel (Sonya) Selby of South Bend, IN, and their daughter Valarie (James) Hodges of Vandalia, MI; her cherished grandchildren; Eric Selby, Evan and Stephanie Selby, Lilly and Violet Selby, Thomas (Maddie) Selby, Meghan (Noah) Wisner, James Price, Joshua and Shawn Selby and her great grandchildren, Owen, Eleanor Rose, and Joel.
Dorothy's memory will be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Richard Viduka of Phoenix, AZ, and Alan Viduka of South Bend, IN. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond and Alvin Thompson, Donald Viduka, and her granddaughter, Alicia Price.
Committed to both family and community, Dorothy also found purpose in work, offering her talents part-time at the University of Notre Dame and serving six years each at South Bend Medical Foundation and St. Joseph Medical Center. Her commitment to care and service left an indelible mark on those institutions and the lives of many individuals.
A private family service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Palmer Funeral Home-Welsheimer North Chapel. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband Wayne at Southlawn Cemetery.
