Louise M. Berkheiser

July 7, 1927 ~ January 7, 2022 (age 94)

Louise M. Berkheiser, 94 years old, passed away at 1:50 a.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Southfield Village, South Bend.  Miss Berkheiser was born on July 7, 1927 in Bremen to the late Robert and Blanche (Senff) Berkheiser.  She has remained a lifelong resident of South Bend.  Miss Berkheiser retired in 2001 from Associates/Citigroup in South Bend where she was employed for 46 ½ years in clerical.  She also enjoyed being a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for fifteen years.

Miss Berkheiser is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Janine Berkheiser of Bremen; grandson, Wyatt Berkheiser of South Bend; and her brother-in-law, Jim Leak of Niles, MI.  Along with her parents, she was  preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Lynn Berkheiser; and sisters, Dorothy Wilkerson and Peggy Leak.  She was also preceded in death by a baby sister and a baby brother.

Private funeral services will be held at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend with burial following at Southlawn Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Louise M. Berkheiser may be donated to Pet Refuge, 4626 S. Burnett Drive, South Bend, IN  46614 or Meals on Wheels, 918 S.
