SOUTH BEND  -- Services for Clark Richard Bavin, 53, of Alexandria, VA, formerly of South Bend, who died Sunday at Mount Vernon Hospital, Alexandria, after an illness, will be at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Alexandria. Burial will be at Ivy Hill Cemetery, Alexandria, Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, Alexandria, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Clark R. Bavin Fund, c/o Chesapeake Bay Foundation, 162 Prince George St., Annapolis, MD 21401.

Mr. Bavin was chief of law enforcement for the Fish and Wildlife Service for the Department of the Interior. He was born June 4, 1937, in South Bend. He is survived by his wife, the former Sandra Kenady; two sons, George W. of New York City and Clark R. Jr. of Alexandria; a stepsister, Susan Dalton Ferguson of Fort Wayne; and his mother, Annabel Dalton of South Bend. He was a graduate of Michigan State University, and earned a doctorate from American University in Washington, D.C. He was a member of the bar of the District of Columbia.
