Gayle Diane Ploetz (Beck) - Class Of 1985 VIEW PROFILE

Gayle Diane (Ploetz) Beck

December 3, 1967 - December 24, 2022         (55 years old)

We are saddened to announce the death of our beloved daughter, sister and aunt, Gayle Diane (Ploetz) Beck. Gayle Diane (Ploetz) Beck has gone home to be with her Lord Jesus on Saturday, December 24, 2022.

Gayle Diane Ploetz was born in Hendricks County, Indiana on December 3, 1967, to Eldon W. Ploetz and Sharon Ploetz. Gayle was a graduate of Riley High School in South Bend, IN. After graduation she attended Indiana University South Bend and received her teaching degree in Elementary Education. Gayle taught in the Culver Elementary School system for the past 20 plus years, helping many children to succeed and to become very productive young men and women. Gayle's yearly classroom for her students was always a welcoming place for all her students and she spent many hours devoting her time to their room and education. She loved teaching all of the Culver students over the years.

Gayle had a quick wit and a sense of humor that was uniquely her own. She could always make you laugh and sometimes annoy you at the same time. Gayle always gave from her heart, and she loved deeply. Her blunt honesty was just her nature and she always let you know where she stood, about any given situation. That was OUR Gayle!

Gayle loved to push the boundaries to achieve her goal. As a teenager she knew how to stay out past her curfew and mom and dad were none the wiser to her shenanigans till years later. Gayle shared wonderful times and her sad days with her best friend, Heather. They were always there for each other no matter the circumstances, they had even planned their retirement together. These two shining stars shined the brightest when they were together. We the family, thank Heather for her friendship and love for Gayle throughout her life in South Bend. THANK YOU!

Gayle was a rock for her family. She supported you without a second thought, she would always do her best to be there for you. She dearly loved her nieces, and nephews like only Aunt Gayle could. If you wanted a true honest answer about anything, you went to Aunt Gayle, and she would give you the truth in her own special way. Gayle had a special love for her nieces and nephews, they were the children she could love, spoil and cause some mischief with, then let their parents (her siblings) deal with them afterwards. Gayle never had children of her own, she said the children in her classroom over the years were all her children and she was blessed with many in her 20 plus years as an elementary school teacher,

Gayle will be greatly missed by her beloved dog Bella (she rescued Bella from a despicable life, that is a story that Gayle would tell everyone over the years).

Gayle leaves to mourn her passing: her mother, Sherry Ploetz; brother, Kris Ploetz (Tricia); brother, Terry Ploetz (Beth); niece, Megan Irwin (Ben); nephew, Ryan Ploetz (Danielle); niece, Jessica Erwin; nephew, Taylor Erwin; niece, Lilliana Ploetz; nephew, Gavin Ploetz; and several great nieces and a nephew. Gayle married Randy Beck one year before her death.

Gayle was preceded in death by her brother, Michael; her beautiful sister, Kari Lee Allison Erwin (2016); and her father, Eldon W. Ploetz (2021).

A Celebration of Gayle's Life is being planned by the family for Spring, 2023.

Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Gayle Diane (Ploetz) Beck to pay them a last tribute.
