MISHAWAKA - Foster L. Strock, 86, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Morningside Health Care in South Bend. Foster was born May 14, 1923, to the late Edwin and Helen (Dunn) Strock in South Bend, Indiana. In May 1947, Foster married Marilyn Meister. Marilyn preceded him in death, passing away in 1985.

Surviving are his children, Kenneth Strock of South Bend and Victoria Duncan of Mishawaka. Also surviving are two granddaughters, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Foster was preceded in death by his son, Glen Strock in 2001, and his brothers Ronald, Dawn and Paul Strock.

Visitation will be held two hours prior to the 3:00 p.m. funeral services on Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Chapel Hill Funeral Home in Osceola. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

A graduate of Riley High School, Foster went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged in January 1946.

Foster was employed by the O'Brien Corporation for 38 years as a machine operator until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the International Painters Union Local #875 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #360 of Mishawaka. Foster also enjoyed building model trains and traveling.
