K. Orraine (Collins) Gregory

SOUTH BEND - K. Orraine Gregory, 93, of South Bend, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2011, in Morningside Nursing and Memory Care Center. Orraine was born on April 29, 1918, in South Bend, to the late Cecelia (Orr) and Lee Collins, and had resided in South Bend most of her life.

On March 19, 1938, Orraine married Francis "Greg" Gregory, who preceded her in death in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her two sisters, Patricia and Merle Collins; grandson, Brian Gregory; and granddaughter, Lisa Luzney.

She is survived by her daughter, Zanette Kostin of Granger, IN; son, Donald (Barbara) Gregory of Cantonment, FL; six grandchildren, Greg (Shari) Luzney of South Bend, Robin (Scott) Foster of Pensacola, FL, Willie (Lysa) Manos of Mobile, AL, Wendy Dunlap of Cantonment, Kelly (George) Hicks of Roswell, GA, and Scott (Annette) Gregory of Deltona, FL; 13 great-grandchildren, Daniel and Rebecca Luzney, Bradley, Brandon, Dawson, Bruce and Landon Foster, Brooke Lynn and Gregory Hicks, Hillary and Wade Manos, Brittney Dunlap and Jacob Gregory; and a brother, Lee (Dee) Collins of South Bend.

Orraine was a graduate of South Bend Riley High School, and retired from Associates Investment, South Bend, in 1980.

She was a volunteer at LOGAN Center and St. Joseph County RSVP. Her interests included bowling, golf, needlework, as well as her green thumb for gardening. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #479, Lakeville, IN, Four Lakes Country Club and Elks Country Club. Orraine was a blessing to family and friends and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 3rd, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, with Rev. Craig Clapper of Trinity Evangelical Free Church officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to LOGAN Center, 2505 E.
