MISHAWAKA - Lillian A. Zakrzewski, 88, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013, in the Morningside Nursing and Memory Center. Lillian was born on February 4, 1925, in South Bend, to Emil and Olga (Ryll) Much, and was a lifelong area resident. She retired in 1989 as a supervisor in the mail room at the University of Notre Dame, where she was employed for 25 years.

On July 3, 1948, in St. Stanislaus Church, as Lillian Much, she married Joseph Zakrzewski, who preceded her in death on April 5, 2012. She was also preceded in death by one son, Wayne Zakrzewski on January 13, 2011; and two sisters, Eleanor Bruegel and Ella Much.

Survivors include her son, Bruce (Mary) Zakrzewski of Mishawaka, Indiana; two grandchildren, Jamie (Mike) Neely of South Bend, Indiana, and Anne Marie Zakrzewski of Mishawaka, Indiana; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas Klinke and Josephine Neely; and one sister, Lorraine (Kenneth) Ziebart of St. Joseph, Michigan.

To honor Lillian's wishes, there will be no visitation. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at Highland Cemetery.

Lillian was a member of Z.B. Falcons where she participated in the bowling and golf leagues. She was an avid golfer, having made two holes-in-one. She was a huge Notre Dame fan, especially in football and women's basketball. She cherished her grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them.
