Mary A. (Jackson) Busfield

GRANGER - Mary Alice Busfield, 81, of Granger, IN, formerly of South Bend, passed away at 5:30 PM Wednesday at home. She was born November 20, 1930 in Kewanna, IN to J. Howard and Helen (Washburn) Jackson and has lived in South Bend since 1942. She married Richard Busfield on March 4, 1961, in Ridgedale Presbyterian Church, South Bend. They just celebrated fifty years of marriage. Mary Alice is survived by her loving husband, Richard; four sons, Michael E. (Kathy) Busfield of Green Cove Springs, FL, Edward Busfield of Mishawaka, Howard (Janet) Busfield of South Bend, and Richard Busfield, Jr. of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Amy, Curtis, Elaine, Aaron, Jillian, and Tareyn Busfield; and sister, Maureen Jackson of Mishawaka.
One brother, John Jackson, preceded her in death.
Mary Alice previously worked for Feferman Cadillac; Bill Killilea Olds-Nissan for twelve years, and retired in 1992 as a bookkeeper at Lochmandy Buick in Elkhart.
She graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School.
Mary Alice was a former member of Ridgedale Presbyterian Church, South Bend, a past member of the Elkhart Moose #299, and a member of the South Bend Firefighters Auxiliary.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, February 20, 2012 at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Rev. Greg Crump will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 - 6:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN.
