Gloria J (Simcox) Ricci Goldberg

Gloria J. Goldberg, 66, of Huntley Court, South Bend, Ind., passed away after a lengthy ill-ness at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 26, in her residence. She was born on Sept. 3, 1932, in South Bend, to Chester and Vera (Garges) Simcox. As Gloria Simcox, she married Richard J. Ricci, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her father, Chester Simcox.

On Dec. 11, 1965, in South Bend, she married Paul L. Goldberg, who survives. She is also survived by her mother, Vera Simcox of South Bend; two daughters, Kathleen (Tim) Riddiough of Newton, Mass., and Melissa (Kevin) Whippo of South Bend; three sons, Dino (Tamara) Ricci of South Bend, Tony (Sandra) Ricci of Vandalia, Mich., and Bart Goldberg of Chicago, Ill.; and by five grandchildren, Ryan and Katie Whippo, Claire and Rachel Riddiough, and Anthony Ricci.

Mrs. Goldberg graduated from Riley High School and attended Indiana University at Bloomington, Ind.

She worked for the South Bend School Corporation as a Title 1 tutor for 20 years. She was a member of the Riley Lunch Bunch.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 29, in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka, Ind. The family will greet relatives and friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today, May 28, in the Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend. Contributions in memory of Gloria J. Goldberg may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to the charity of donor's choice.
