Clarence Evan Bare

Clarence Evan "Bud" Bare was born June 3, 1913 in North Liberty, Indiana, the fourth son of six children to Evan E. and Daisy I. (Edison) Bare of North Liberty. He grew up on the family farm in North Liberty. He married Barbara Louise Bickel on September 9, 1937. They then moved to South Bend, where he was employed as a manufacturing foreman at the Studebaker Automotive plant. After the close of the Studebaker plant in the early 1960s, he worked as a salesman for North American Van Lines, from which he retired in 1975.

He was survived by three sons and one daughter: the late Richard W. Bare Sr., Dr. B. Bruce Bare, Kenneth E. Bare, and Christine L. (Bare) Shank, as well as by nine grandchildren at the time of his death.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home, where a Masonic service will be at 7:30 p.m.

He was a member of Goshen First Presbyterian Church and Goshen Kiwanis Club, a past master of Portage Masonic Lodge, South Bend, a life member of South Bend Valley of Scottish Rite where he was a member of the Commit-tee of 60, and a member of Studebaker Drivers Club, Elkhart Vintage Auto Club and American Association of Retired Persons. Memorial contributions may be made to Elkhart Community Hospice Inc.
