Pauline B. (Burger) Weddle

Pauline B. Weddle, 95, of Timbercrest Senior Living Community in North Manchester, Ind. died Saturday, May 17, 2008 in Timbercrest Healthcare Center.

Pauline was born April 23, 1913, on her grandparents farm in Pleasant Township, Wabash County, Indiana to Egbert Luther & Edna (Cripe) Burger. Her mother died when she was nine weeks old and she was raised by her father and stepmother, Emma (Montel) Burger.

On June 25, 1938 she married Paul E. Weddle. He died Dec. 15, 2000.

A homemaker and elementary school teacher, she taught in Ft. Wayne and South Bend schools. She graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School in South Bend and from Manchester College.

Known for her warm smile, she loved being a mother. Polly supported Habitat for Humanity, Heifer International, United Nations and Social Justice. She was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are one son, Dr. Douglas (Marie) Weddle, Shenandoah; one sister, Josephine "Jo" Reinoehl, North Manchester, Ind.; one son-in-law, Dean Beery, Huntington, Ind.; two sisters-in-law, Lois Weddle, Nappanee, Ind. and Majorie Crull, North Manchester, Ind.; five grandchildren, Beth (Jim) Beery-Bennett, Huntington, Ind.; David (Amy) Beery, Indianapolis, Ind.; Jodi (Brian) Holloway, Moundridge, Kan.; Julia Sinn, Ft. Scott, Kan.; Mark Weddle, Denver, Colo.

Pauline is preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Beery in 2002, one great-grandchild, one brother and three sisters.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at Timbercrest Chapel in North Manchester, Ind. Visitation with friends and family will be held one hour prior to the services. Memorials should be made to Timbercrest Senior Living Community, PO Box 501, North Manchester, Ind. 46962 or Manchester Church of the Brethren, 1306 Beckley Street, North Manchester, Ind. 46962.  The Delaughter-McKee Mortuary of Manchester, Ind. is in charge of arrangements.
