Leah (Pinney) Collins Heiderich

Leah Collins Heiderich, 87. a former Plymouth, Ind., resident, died on Friday. April 6. in Atria Campana Del Rio, a retirement center in Tucson, Ariz., where she lived She was born on July 15. 1913, in Wanatah, Ind., to Carroll L and Nettie Mitzner Pinney

On March 9. 1940, she was married to John B. Collins of Peotone, III., who died on Aug 12, 1984 She was preceded in death by their daughter. Maureen Collins Sapp on April 20 1970. She was also preceded in death by two brothers. Wilbur and Donald Pinney On July 15, 1992 she was married to Ronald Heiderich, who died on Dec. 11, 1998. She is survived by two daughters, Kathleen Collins Orey and Mary Virginia Collins Huffman of Tucson; four granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren; and by a sister, Betty Lou Laramore of Plymouth. 

She was graduated from Riley High School in South Bend, Ind.. and Butler University in Indianapolis. She was an elementary teacher at Webster and West Schools in Plymouth from 1965 to 1977, and in Pleasant Township School near Franklin, Ind., from 1961 to 1965.

A memorial service will be held in Plymouth at a later date. Burial will be at New Oakhill Clattery, Plymouth. Memorial contributions may , be made to the American Heart Association or to the Masonic Learning Center for Children, 427 N. Main Street, South Bend IN 46601.
