SOUTH BEND — Harold Ryan Sr., 82, of 19994 Auten Road, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday in his home. Mr. Ryan retired in 1975 from Wells Cargo as a carpenter. He was born Jan. 7, 1913, in Ottawa, Ill., and lived in South Bend most of his life. On July 7, 1935, in Mishawaka, he married Margaret Carruth. She died Oct. 27, 1994. He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Spinner of Pontiac, Mich.; a son, Harold Jr. of South Bend; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Memorial graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. There will be no visitation. Welsheimer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association.
