SOUTH BEND - Michael E. Gilbert, 45, of South Bend, Indiana, departed this life on Sunday, November 4, 2012. He was born on August 8, 1967, to the union of Elvester Harris and William Gilbert Sr. in South Bend, Indiana.
Michael was a 1987 graduate of Riley High School.
He was an outgoing person and enjoyed being around family and friends. He loved his music and he was an exceptional D.J.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Elvester Harris of South Bend, Indiana; brothers, Edward Crowder of Goshen, Indiana, and William Gilbert Jr. of South Bend; sister, Tina Gilbert of South Bend; niece, Tatiyana Styles of South Bend; and nephews, Torrian and Trey 'v' Yon Gilbert, also of South Bend; aunts, Grace Brown and Donna Baxter, both of Montgomery, Alabama, and Gladys Davis of East Orange, New Jersey, Lizzie Vinson of South Bend; uncles, Rev. Arnather (Bernice) Baxter of Montgomery, Alabama, Tommie Baxter of New York, New York, Clifford Baxter and Roosevelt Baxter, both of Montgomery, Alabama; along with a host of cousins who will miss him dearly.
Michael was preceded in death by his wife, Samantha Gilbert; his father, William Gilbert Sr.; grandmothers, Corine Gilbert of South Bend and Willie Mae Baxter of Montgomery, Alabama; great-grandmother, Addie Hanson of Detroit, Michigan; aunts, Lucille McNeil and Mary Gilbert, both of South Bend.
Funeral services for Michael E. Gilbert will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012, in Clark-O'Neal Funeral Home, Inc., 2702 Lincoln Way West. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. and service at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visit www.clarkoneal.com to sign his guestbook.
