Mary Frances Wisley, born on December 29, 1931, in South Bend, passed away on July 23, 2023, in her beloved hometown. A beloved figure known for her loving, kind, and friendly nature; she will be deeply missed.
Mary was born to the late Clint and Opal (Thompson) Carson and was a cherished mother to Stephanie (Rick) Middleton, Sue Hickey, John Hickey, and Jeff (Joann) Hickey. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Garns, Elsie Bivens, Ruby Carson, and Lester Carson. Mary's enduring strength and affection touched many, not least her immediate family, which included her late husband, John Wisley, and her late children, Cheryl Robbins, Debra Brooks, and Michael Hickey.
Mary's family was her greatest pride and joy. They were the recipients of her wisdom and kindness, including her six grandchildren: Janet, Nick, Aaron, Jeanette, Justin, and Steven, also her numerous great-grandchildren.
A proud alumna of Riley High School, Mrs. Wisley carried the lessons of her youth into her career. Her contributions as an executive assistant to Mr. Andorphorer at Indiana Tech University were highly recognized. Her dedication to her vocation resonated throughout the years, forever imprinted in university lore.
Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46545 is assisting the family with arrangements. A private burial will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Hwy., Osceola, Indiana 46561.
Memorial contributions in Mary’s honor can be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or to the Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Pl., Mishawaka, Indiana 46545.
