Charles E. McIntyre

SOUTH BEND - Charles E. McIntyre, 80, of South Bend, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2011, in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, Mishawaka, IN. He was born November 30, 1930, in South Bend, to the late Edward and Helen (Miller) McIntyre. On August 12, 1961, he married Elizabeth L. Carter, who preceded him in death on February 11, 2010. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Leslie E. McIntyre.
Charles is survived by his daughters, Leigh A. Robison and Margret "Maggie" Harradon-McIntyre, both of South Bend; his sons, Scott (Cindy) McIntyre of South Bend and Wayne "Rocky" Robison of Mankato, MN; 11 grandchildren, Michael G. (Maciej) Jaskiewicz, Andrew, Joseph, Jennifer McIntyre, Heather (Jerry) Zopfi, Natalie (Peter) Lecision, Zachory and DeKota Cornelius, Cooper Harradon, Bella E. McIntyre and J. Seth DiGrazia-Robison; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Mr. McIntyre retired from Bendix in 1991 after 37 years of service.
He was a 1948 graduate of Riley High School, a United States Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict, a member of American Legion Post #50 and the VFW in Marcellus, MI.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2011, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend. Funeral services for Charles will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, with burial to follow at Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
