Pastor Wilbur E. Workman, age 92, died at 3:10 a.m. on Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Grace Village Retirement Community. He was born in Lima, OH on May 28, 1914 to Stewart and Grace (Coleman) Workman.

Graduating with the Class of 1933 from Riley High School in South Bend, IN, he completed his education at Goshen College and United Seminary of Dayton, OH. On April 10, 1938, he was united in marriage to Lillian A. Rhodes in South Bend, IN. He spent 45 years in Northeastern Indiana as Pastor at various Methodist Churches including, Bourbon, Craigville, Silver Lake, Albion, Elkhart, Ligonier, Muncie and Etna-Green, Indiana retiring in 1977. He was a resident of Grace Village for the past three years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Lillian A. Workman of Winona Lake, IN; 4 children, Ted (Janet) Workman of New Haven, IN, Daniel (Mignon) Workman of Franklin, IN, Thomas Workman of Fort Wayne, IN, and Janice (Ronald) Conrad of Troy, OH; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Workman and sister, Doris Workman.

Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, IN. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Columbia City United Methodist Church, 605 Forest Parkway, Columbia City, IN with Pastor Paul Arnold from the church and Rev. Dr. Cynthia Reynolds, Warsaw District Superintendent-United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, IN. Memorial bequests may be given in Pastor Workman's memory to Columbia City United Methodist Church Building Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
