Marjorie (Hupp) Hine

SOUTH BEND - Marjorie Hine, 92, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2013. Born September 27, 1920, she graduated from Riley High School in 1937. She was the daughter of the late Homer and Pearl Hupp. Married April 9, 1939, she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Robert P. Hine; son-in-law, Dr. Scott P. Johnson; and two brothers, Farrell and Russell Hupp.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolynn Hine-Johnson; niece, Nancy Hickey; & cousins, Steve Hickey and Cindy Janiak.

Marjorie was a woman of many talents. She was a professional dancer in Chicago in her younger years, and passed her love for dancing to her daughter who is assistant professor of dance at IU South Bend. Marjorie loved to crochet and made many afghans for her family and friends. She and her husband had a passion for finding and collecting antiques. She loved jewelry and roses, especially coral roses.
