Martin J “Marty” King
Martin J. King, 55, died peacefully with his wife at his side on June 1, 2015.
Martin was born on April 1, 1960 in South Bend to Richard and Mary (Prikosovits) King. Marty was employed by Steel Warehouse and was an avid gardener who celebrated the 4th of July in a big way. He graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tri-State University. He was a member of Holy Family Church and loved Notre Dame Football and Basketball as well as the Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Pirates and was a closet Chicago Cubs fan.
On May 23, 1987 in South Bend he married Marcy Wesolowski who survives. Also surviving are two daughters Jillian King of New York City and Allison King of South Bend, two brothers Michael King of South Bend and Richard (Cheryl) King of Mishawaka and two aunts Agnes Prikosovits and Elizabeth Prikosovits both of South Bend, brother in-law Paul Wesolowski, four nephews, (Brian, Michael, Daniel Wesolowski and Ricky King) and one niece, Christina King.
Marty was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Thomas King.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Friday, June 5, 2015 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. His former classmate Fr. Kevin Bauman will preside. A Celebration of Life will take place from 4-8 Thursday in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice
