SOUTH BEND - On the morning of Sunday, January 27, 2008, at 8:30 a.m., Ms. Linda Ann Patterson of Meade Street, South Bend, Indiana, made her departure from this earth at the age of 47. In Marvell, Arkansas, she was born to the union of John and Vergia Mae Patterson on August 4, 1960.

She came to South Bend in the fall of 1969 and graduated from Riley High School.

She was employed at Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center for 10 years and Goodwill Industries for three years.

Linda's memory will be cherished by her son, Maurice Richmond; two daughters, Marshana DeAnna Gandy and Marchella Denience Gandy; three loving grandchildren, Marlashay, Markeese and Marka Gandy; a loving companion, Marvin Gandy; two sisters, Bernice Jurkowski and Paula Patterson; two brothers, Ivory Patterson and Larry Patterson, all of South Bend; along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Vergia Mae Patterson; two sisters, Jesse Gatson and Frances Patterson; a special aunt, Levada Lintz; and a special nephew, Franklin Gatson.

Funeral services for Ms. Linda Paterson will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, in Alford's Mortuary, with burial following at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alford's Mortuary where bereavement messages may be sent to alfordsmortuary@comcast.net, c/o the Patterson family.
