Clementine Lucille (Exaver) Hood

April 15, 1917 – June 18, 2004

Clementine L.Hood, 87, of Jefferson in Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Friday, June 18, in her residence. Clementine was born April 15, 1917, to Leo and Ethel (Parker) Exa- ver.On Nov.7, 1936, in South Bend, Ind., she married Guy W.Hood Jr. Clementine was preceded in death by her husband on Dec.24, 1998; her parents;her brother, Albert Exaver;and by her sister, Almajean.

Clementine is survived by her son, Jack (Sally) Hood of Osceola, Ind.;daughters, Carol (John) McNamara of South Bend, B.J. (Bob) O’Brien and Betty Sue Whitson, both of Osceola. Also her sister, Annabelle Sydenstricker of South Bend; sister-in-law, Alice Holtz of Elkhart, Ind.; and by 16 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit on Monday, June 21, from 4 to 8 p.m.in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, with a Rosary service at 7 p.m.Funeral services will be held in Queen of Peace Church on Tuesday at 11 a.m., with Father Richard Hire officiating, and visitation one hour prior to services in the church. Interment to follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Queen of Peace School in Mishawaka.

Mary was a homemaker and a charter member of Queen of Peace Church and Rosary Society.She was a longtime member of the Morris Park Country Club, Howard Park Senior Club, Summit Club, Indiana Club and Battell Club Bridge.Mary and the late Guy Hood Jr.were members of the Saturday Nighters Dance Club.She was a member of St. Joseph Hospital Auxiliary and the Questers, a quilting club.
