EDWARDSBURG - Judith Ann (Earhart) Bushkill, 61, formerly of Granger and South Bend, passed away peacefully in her home on Eagle Lake late Sunday night surrounded by family. She was born on March 31, 1950, to Robert W. Earhart, who preceded her in death, and her mother, Joan A. (Foster) Earhart, who survives of South Bend. Other family members left to cherish Judy's memory are her husband, Charles R. Bushkill of Edwardsburg, MI, whom she married on June 21, 1975, in South Bend; her two daughters, Lindsay Bushkill of Gastonia, NC, and Alison Garcia of Albuquerque, NM; and her brother, Thomas Earhart of Warsaw, IN. Judy will be best-remembered as a fabulous mother to her children. She enjoyed reading, exercising, laying out in the sun at the lake, water (and snow) skiing, caring for her cat, wild birds, flowers, and "marketing" as she called it at the Farmers Market, among many other things. Judy loved to travel and especially visit her two daughters. She was a member of Clay Church, the Indiana University Alumni Association, and Tri-Delta Alumnae Association. She was Sustainer in Junior League, and a past member of Service Guild. Judy was a 1968 graduate of Riley High School who went on to graduate with a BS and Master's in Education at IU-Bloomington. She spent 39 years in the South Bend Community School Corporation teaching elementary grades and special programs such as gifted and talented, along with being a resource teacher for Title 1. A memorial service to celebrate Judy's life will be held this Friday, August 26, 2011, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation an hour prior at McGann Hay, Granger Chapel located at 13260 SR 23 (enter off Cherry Road). Dr. Herb Buwalda, pastor of Clay Church, officiating. To honor Judy's memory, the family requests memorial contributions be made in lieu of flowers to Clay Church, 52866 Ironwood Road, South Bend, IN 46635.
