Miles E. Lockwitz, 61, of South Bend, IN passed away at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Our Lady of Peace, Mishawaka, IN. He was born on August 7, 1949 in South Bend to John and L. Beverly (Klink) Lockwitz, Jr.  

Mr. Lockwitz is survived by his life partner of thirty years, Patricia Noffsinger; daughters, Bijana "Kristy" of Portland, OR and Tina Noffsinger of South Bend, IN; son, Leroy Noffsinger of Marion, IN; grandchild, Leslie O'Brien and brother, John (Kathy) Lockwitz III of South Bend, IN. He is also survived by two nieces, Lisa Jump and Jennifer Lockwitz and two grand nieces and nephews.

Mr. Lockwitz was a lifelong area resident. He was a retired businessman. He served honorably in the United States Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 303. Mr. Lockwitz was very active in a bridge club, loved cooking and animals. He loved life, playing cards and going to the casino. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 27, 2011 in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services. Burial will take place at a later date in Syracuse, IN.
