NANCY C. HERKENRODER June 15, 1934 – January 14, 2013 BRISTOL- Nancy C. Herkenroder, 78, of Bristol, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Monday (Jan. 14, 2013) at Greenleaf Health Campus. She was born June 15, 1934 in Peru, Indiana to Paul R. & Lola P. (Sturwalt) Jordan. On April 20, 1954 in South Bend, Indiana she married Ralph W. “Herk” Herkenroder. He preceded her in death on June 24, 2005 in South Bend. Surviving are 2 sons, John Herkenroder of Bristol, Frank (Trudy) Herkenroder of Elkhart, 3 grandchildren, Brian, Amy, and Allie Herkenroder. She was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. Nancy graduated in 1952 from Riley High School in South Bend. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She retired from Gemeinhardt Musical Instruments where she worked for over 20 years. Visitation for family and friends will be from 4-5 p.m. Friday at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday (Jan. 18, 2013) at the funeral home. Ed Fruitig will preside and cremation will follow. Memorial contributions may be given to the Center for Hospice Care-Elkhart.
