SOUTH BEND - Michael C. Ward, 67, passed away October 11, 2016, in his home surrounded by his family.

Michael was born December 18, 1948, in Detroit, MI, to the late Gilbert and Mary (Doprweke) Ward. Michael was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Burdue, and best fishing buddy, Eddie Williams.

On December 27, 2003, in South Bend, Michael married Suzanne (Mitchell) Ward, she survives along with children, Matthew (Crystal) Ward, Michelle (Claude) Ogle, Robert Ward, Adam Ward, Christy (Joshua) Northam, and Anna Amos; sister, Linda Angus; grandchildren, Allie and Erin Ogle, Madison and Wesley Ward, Joseph and Dion Gardini, Brianna, Christy and Erica Amos, Braxten and Seeley Ward, Bryleigh and Joshua, Jr. Northam, Conner and Sean Ward, and Dalton Yeager; and a great-grandson, William Yeager.

Michael honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. He was the owner of Protector Security, and was a car loan financial manager. He loved to fish, boxing, and the Cubs. He was a big fan of the “Rat Pack” and singing Frank Sinatra songs. He was sharp and quick-witted in a comical satire. He cherished his grandchildren.

By his wishes, there will be no services. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Rd., is assisting the family.
