SPRING LAKE - Mrs. Judy Ann Fisette Knapp, 61, of Spring Lake, and formerly of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 2:40 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, in her home following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 12, 1947, in South Bend, as the daughter of Chester E. & Joanna Yates Wingett. She was a 1966 graduate of James Whitcomb Riley High School. On Nov. 21, 1988 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Craig E. Knapp. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Fort Gordon, Ga. They moved to North Carolina in 2002. While living in Spring Lake, she was employed at the Sunshine House Daycare in Fayetteville. While in South Bend, Judy was an active member of Calvary Temple Church. She was an avid bowler and always enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her sons and grandchildren. Judy is survived by her husband Craig; four sons, Howard E. Fisette Jr. of South Bend, Nick (Julie) Fisette of South Lyon, Mich., Jeff (Roshunda) Fisette of Atlanta and Chad Fisette of Seattle. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Bailey, Mackenzie, Nathan, Evan and Gabriella Fisette; three sisters, Darlene Nunemaker of San Antonio, Sandra (George) Hartman of Lakeville, Ind., Deborah (Larry) Gee of South Bend; and a brother, Roger Wingett of Llano, Texas. Services celebrating the life of Judy Fisette Knapp will be at 10a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009, at Southgate Church, 3717 South Michigan Street, South Bend. The Rev. John Wilson will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 4, 2009, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisigner Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church.
