MICHIGAN CITY - Deborah L. "Debbie" Wagoner-Guse, 60, of Michigan City, died Friday, Sept. 4, at her residence in Michigan City. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 5:00 p.m. EST in the Carlisle Funeral Home. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4:00 P.M. EST until time of service on Wednesday. She was born June 22, 1949, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Kenneth I. and Patricia A. (Smith) Wagoner, both of whom preceded her in death.

Surviving are her sons, Ben Guse of Michigan City and Charlie Guse of South Bend; former husband, William E. Guse of Michigan City; sister, Janet (Darrel) Schramski of Mishawaka; brother, William (Shelly) Wagoner of South Bend; sister, Barbara Wilson of South Bend; many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Wagoner-Guse graduated from Riley High School, South Bend, Class of "67." She later graduated from IUSB with her bachelor's in education where she later received her master's in elementary education.

Debbie began her teaching career at Jefferson Elementary School, Michigan City, 1971-1977; she later taught at Central Elementary School from 1977 to 1991, and spent the last 16 years at Joy Elementary School where she taught first grade. Her passion in life was her family and teaching for 38 years.
