J. Clement Schott

August 12, 1937 – June 28, 2018

J. Clement Schott, 80, residing in South Bend, Indiana, passed away at 10:41 AM on Thursday June 28, 2018 at Memorial Hospital South Bend, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. 

On August 12, 1937 Clement was born to the late Ora and Laura (Nettrour) Schott. Clement was a graduate of Riley High School, South Bend and Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana.  Clement was gifted in many ways. He was a pilot, salesman, Bible and Sunday School teacher, tool and die maker, and formerly owned a print shop.  For 36 years of his life, he served as a Pastor of many Missionary Church congregations throughout Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio until he retired.    

On August 25, 1956 Clement was united in marriage to Edith “Edie” (Campbell) Schott. Clement is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Edie Schott.  He is also survived by his daughters, Kristina (Rodney) Craig of South Bend and Audrey (Michael) Lawrence of Tipp City, Ohio; son, Larry (Linda) Joyner of Lima, Ohio; grandchildren, Abby, Heather, Stephen, and Gwen; great grandchildren, Addix and Scarlet; sister, Esther Schott of Lima, Ohio; and foreign exchange student Christopher Soulvis from London, England.  Clement considered him a son. He is preceded in death by an infant sister, Lois Schott.  

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday, July 1, 2018 at Gospel Center Missionary Church, 930 S. 30th Street, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 pm Sunday until time of services at the church.  Burial will take place at 11:00 AM Monday, July 2, 2018 at Bremen Cemetery, Bremen, IN.
