Jean M. Brant Lowry, 72, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away at 2:26 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014, at her home. Jean was born on March 4, 1942, in Bowling Green, Indiana, to Philemon and Ruth (Arney) Brant. Jean married Joseph L. Lowry, in South Bend, Indiana, on June 25, 1961. He has passed away on May 4, 2010. Jean worked for Woolworth's as a bookkeeper. She was active in the Walkerton Historical Society and the Walkerton Community Pantry. She also belonged to a quilting group. Jean loved making quilts and had made them for her family and for groups to raffle, as a fundraiser. She was a member of the Tyner United Methodist Church and served on many committees, in her church.

Jean is survived by her son, Brian (Rose) Lowry of Walkerton; her grandchildren, Joanna Ritter of Walkerton, who attends IUSB, Henry Lowry of Indianapolis, and Jason Lowry at home, who also attends IUSB; her great-grandson, Gabriel Ritter of Walkerton; and her twin sister, June M. Wiegand of Walkerton; and three close nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, and her parents.
