ELKHART-- Jane Eileen Wogoman, 68, of Elkhart, IN, died of surgical complications Thursday in the Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center. She was born on May 3, 1942, in South Bend, IN to Allen and Musa (Walker) Daffinee. She married Frank Wogoman on July 31, 1965, in South Bend. She graduated from James Whitcomb Riley High School in 1960. She received an Associate Degee from Ball State University in 1962. She worked at Miles Laboratories/Bayer Corporation from 1962 until retirement in 1999.

She enjoyed many years singing with Sweet Adelines. The Melodeers won numerous national competitions and sang the National Anthem at a Chicago Cubs game. In her retirement she was an active member of the community as a volunteer for the South Bend Symphony Orchestra League, Center for History, where she was named an outstanding volunteer in 2010, the South Bend Library, and the South Bend Regional Airport.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her brother, Richard Daffinee, as well as her parents. Survivors include a sister-in-law, Cathy Daffinee (Jim) Heeter of Long Beach, IN; nephew, Jim (Cindy) Daffiee of Westfield, IN; nephew, Marc (Sirilak) Daffinee of South Bend, IN; niece, Jill (Jason) Jaronik of Granger, IN; great-nephews, Suepsai Daffinee and Camden Daffinee; great-nieces, Kenzie Daffinee, Isabelle and Sophias Jaronik.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, August 16th, in McGann Hay Funerals | Cremations | Gatherings, Granger Chapel, 13260 SR 23 (enter off Cherry Road).  A service of sharing will take place at 6:30 for those who would like to share a memory of Jane. A gathering for friends and family at Jane’s home will immediately follow the calling. Donations may be made in Jane’s name to the American Cancer Society, to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, or to the charity of your choice.
