SOUTH BEND - Betty Wensits of Bear Lake, Michigan, formerly of South Bend, was born December 9, 1928, to Charles August and Mildred (Granger) Paul in South Bend Indiana. Betty, 88, passed away August 20, 2017, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, William “Bill” Wensits; her daughter, Susan M. Wensits Steele; her great-grandson, Ronin Isara; two sisters, Mary Zalai and Helen Hulbert; and one brother, James Richard Paul. Betty is survived by her son, Chuck Wensits and wife, Debbie of Texas; 4 grandchildren, Mandy Isara and husband Seizen of Texas, William Wensits and wife Maranda of New York, Chelsea Steele-Nicol and husband Sam of Colorado, Shannon Steele of Colorado; and 1 great-granddaughter, Leila Eliana Isara of Texas; and a great number of nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 23rd, at Zahoran Funeral Home at 1826 S. Kemble Ave., South Bend, Indiana, and burial will be at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the services from noon to 1:00 and service at 1:00, with burial immediately following. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer-Dementia services.
