Riley 1953 Roy Gilbert

1935-2016

81, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2016. He was born in South Bend, IN on February 14, 1935 to Ira and Meta Gilbert. He graduated from Riley High School and served in the US Air Force for four years. Roy retired from AT&T after 50 years of work.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Lois; infant son, David Michael; and daughter, Brenda. He is survived by wife of 55 years, Ruth; sons, Kevin and Dennis; sister Ester Lemke; 3 granddaughters, Kira, Amanda and Briana; and 2 great granddaughters, Payton and Bailey.

Family and friends will gather for visitation on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the Riley Children's Foundation.
